As of this month, I have been in church ministry for 9 full years (7 years in full-time positions) with 4 different congregations. I’ve been in Monroe, Sanford, Fayetteville, and Salemburg (or Rebel City as the locals know it). There is a common thought among many of the unchurched I have met in [...]

Last night Luke awoke about 1am or 1:30am with a terrible cough. He sounds “croupey” in my completely uneducated opinion. He and I were together in the recliner until about 5am (when I went and got Jenny and we traded out!). During my time in the recliner, we slept a little [...]

Last night for my Birthday, Jenny and the boys took me out to Ruby Tuesday in Fayetteville (thank you Mary Stewart and Jason for the gift card!). Our waitress, Megan had come to the table to drop off our drinks (Jen had a strawberry lemonade and I had cherry lemonade), and Caleb wanted to [...]

During a recent conversation with a friend, we read 2 Peter 3:3-8 which says:
3seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
4For by these He has granted to us His precious [...]

Yesterday, I blogged about my desire to live out the fact that my life is God’s (Galatians 2:20). He purchased me for a price (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) . My life is His.
Okay, so here is how I resemble Caleb. Caleb, age 2, genuinely desires to please Mama and Daddy. He genuinely [...]

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. [...]

Today Jenny turns 29. I realize this is obvious to all who know us, but she is a full 6 days older than myself! Ha, Ha!! So Happy Birthday, Jen!
On a more serious note, here are just a few of the things that I appreciate about my sweet wife on her special [...]

Jenny and I are excited about the upcoming Disney movie, Cars. Caleb, a matchbox car enthusiast, has never been to see a movie before (not surprising since he’s only two). From what I have heard and read, it should be an entertaining movie with a positive message. I did see on the [...]

Okay, I know it has been a while since my last entry. I cannot explain it, but in any area where self-discipline is needed, I have a terrible problem. I have given it the name “Miss a Day- Miss a Week” Syndrome (or MD-MW). The tricky thing about MD-MW is that it [...]

We had another great day today. We went to the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knolls, NC. It was great! Caleb and Luke enjoyed the whole thing! We saw river otters, sharks, and a variety of different fish and marine animals. We saw a couple of demonstrations (otters and sharks) too.
After naps (both our boys [...]
