My battle with the smoke alarm began last weekend (October 14-15). It woke me up before 5am the first morning and then again the next morning. Well, long story short, I got the thing to finally stop chirping after two trips to Lowe’s, though I never installed the new alarm. Well, yesterday, it started chirping again and it hasn’t stopped. I disconnected it and took the battery out, but the hole in the ceiling where it is wired in is still chirping! It is terribly frustrating! The guy at Lowe’s said the chirp wasn’t coming from the hole in the ceiling, but I can tell you from experience- it is! So, here’s the deal- I’m open to any and all suggestions. Is it possible that installing an entirely new alarm will cause the hole in the ceiling to stop beeping? If not, what will stop it? Once this whole ordeal is done, and the chirping is gone, I plan to write another entry about it- I’m sure there’s a spiritual application somewhere in there!
Changing gears, here are my current memory verses:
To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled.
Titus 1:15 (ESV)
But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.
1 Timothy 4:7 (NASB)
