ESV Study Bible… an initial review

As an international missionary, I didn’t get my hands on my copy of the ESV Study Bible until my parents visited earlier this month.  I hold it in my hand now, it’s calfskin cover a secret “upgrade” Christmas present from my wife.  At over 2,7oo pages, I can’t say I’ve read every word, but I [...]

My Dad is Home

Thank you for praying.  My dad is home from the hospital and weak, but doing well.

Thanks for praying… and an Update on my Dad

I just sent this email out to our prayer partners.
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for praying for my dad.  This morning he had a heart catherization.  I rejoice in telling you the findings were much less than we feared.  It appears his problems have been caused by an small artery that is completely closed off.  [...]

Please Pray for My Dad

My dad, Stewart, was taken to the hospital yesterday with what was believed to be a heart attack.  I found out a few minutes ago that it was not a heart attack.  The doctors are not sure exactly what is wrong and will perform a heart catherization tomorrow morning.  My dad already has three stints [...]

Merry Christmas!

A post from my mom (Peru, Part 8)

Today was another real good day except for a scares.  John, Kat, the boys and I went to McDonald’s and ate breakfast, played in the play area some and brought back breakfast for Mac and Jenny.  Afterwards, we all went to a wonderful park right in Lima for the boys to play.  They had artificial [...]

A post from my mom (Peru, Part 7)

Could not write yesterday  because the internet was not working last night.  Well, Wednesday morning at 3:00 AM I woke up with a feeling that my throat might be closing up.  I have had a bad cold, a bad cough , and a sore throat for a few days.  It was a bad feeling so [...]

A post from my mom (Peru, Part 6)

Mac arrived this morning about 2:30 a.m.  His plane was delayed because they had to work on the plane.  He was scheduled to arrive about 10:30 p.m., but due to the mechanical failure of the plane and due to the failure of Mac to get in the right line to claim baggage,  John, Mac and [...]
